Phase 01

A new Jewish community centre

The first phase of the project focuses on building a new Jewish Community Centre (JCC) to replace the outdated facility that has served the community since 1961. Despite renovations over the years, the current JCC is overcrowded and unable to meet the growing demand for programs and services across all age groups.

The new 200,000 square foot JCC will feature a state-of-the-art theatre open to performers from Greater Vancouver and beyond, expanded seniors’ services, a new fitness centre, greater capacity childcare centre with a south-facing green space on the roof, and a pool large enough for swim meets, as well as many other services and programs.

The centre will also provide more space for the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre, Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, numerous community organizations, and the Kerrisdale Oakridge Marpole Community Policing Centre (KOM CPC), ensuring a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

The new campus will include more than 20 not-for-profit organizations
